How does Festival of Trees benefit our community?
In 1996, the Vancouver Rotary Club was searching for a fundraising event that could raise substantial financial contributions for community projects and scholarships. The first year, the Festival of Trees raised $18,000. The event has now cumulatively netted more than $1.5 million dollars! These funds go directly to the Vancouver Rotary Foundation for distribution.
What is the Vancouver Rotary Foundation?
The Vancouver Rotary Foundation was established in 1972 to foster, develop, promote, and encourage the health, education, and general welfare of the residents of Vancouver and Clark County. Since its inception, it has approved more than $2 million in grants. In 2008, the Foundation distributed $253,987 in grants including $90,500 in college and vocational school scholarships to 26 students from Clark County. The Vancouver Rotary Foundation is governed by community leaders who are elected from the membership of the Rotary Club of Vancouver.
